  • 2 - Huacaya (most common in Australia) & Suri (their fleece looks like dread locks).

Is Alpaca fibre good for sensitive skin?

  • Yes - Alpaca fibre is hypoallergenic (contains no lanolin) and great for people with sensitive skin.

What are some of the benefits of wearing Alpaca?

  • It is a natural fibre, retains heat, light weight and is extremely soft.

Do Alpacas need to be shorn each and every year?

  • Yes - Alpacas do not shed their fleece and have to be sheared once a year. They have exceptionally warm and long fleece for winter and if they are not shorn they will overheat in summer which could be fatal.

Is any part of your processing done overseas?

  • No - all our processing is completed in the Hawkesbury of NSW.

  • Yes - please “Contact Us” & we can certainly have a chat about what you have.

Is there a minimum quantity in order to get my Alpaca fleece processed?

  • Yes - a minimum of 1kg of the same Colour, Micron & Length.

If I don’t meet the minimum requirement can I still get my Alpaca fleece processed?

  • Yes - but you will charged the minimum 1kg price.

Will you process an Alpaca fleece with high Vegetation Matter in it?

  • No - if we deem that there is too much vegetation matter (burrs, stones, leaves, sticks etc.) we will return the fleece unprocessed at the owners expense.

If I want my Alpaca fleece processed how is your price determined?

  • Our price is based on incoming raw weight.

  • Therefore the cleaner the Alpaca fleece is the less you pay.

Why is the price determined on incoming weight?

  • The more vegetation matter & dirt, the more labour intensive the process is for us.

  • It also puts greater stress on & can potentially damage our machinery.

What payment methods do you take?

  • We currently only accept EFT / Direct Deposit for any Mill Processing.

  • No - all postage will be calculated at the final processing weight & charged per order accordingly.
